How to boost your immune system

As we move into the winter making sure that our immune system is tip top is so important

Even if you haven’t been kind to your immune system up until now, now is the place to start.

It can all start with one powerful core belief; focus on actions, not outcomes.

But by focusing on small daily actions we can move forward even in the face of uncertainty and as a result better protect ourselves.

Here are some tips going forward to help boost your immune system:

1. Keep Moving

It doesn’t mean that fitness has to stop; it’s going to be beneficial to keep moving.

2. Keep hydrated

We are over 60% water, and aim to drink 0.033ml x kg/body weight in water a day. If you aren’t getting this amount now, gradually increase your intake over the week.

3. Sleep

7-9 hours of quality sleep each night will allow your body time to recover and heal and allow you to take on the world the next day.

4. Avoid processed food

Avoid processed and refined sugars and foods, all of these can contribute to an inflammatory response in the body. Over time this can lead to immune suppression.

5. Eat the rainbow

Eating a wide variety of fruits and vegetables will provide the body with adequate fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to help protect against illness another benefit is it can help with weight management.
